I
feel it is essential to get involved in the community. I have
never been one to sit back and let things happen. Being a board
member will allow me to be more engaged and aware of the league
so that my son and other children can grow up enjoying baseball
as much as I do. I am willing to do whatever I can to help out. |

I
have been involved with Lamar Little League for the past four
years- one year as a coach and three years as a manager. I truly
get great joy from being involved with LLL, with the game of
little league baseball and from being a part of the LLL
community. I feel my passion for little league baseball and for
LLL will serve me well as a member of the Board and it would be
my honor to serve and give back to our kids and Lamar Little
League. |

Over
the past several years my sons have enjoyed playing at Lamar
Little League and it has become an important part of our lives.
We have wholeheartedly enjoyed the atmosphere of the park, the
camaraderie of the teams, the competitive nature of the league
and the many friendships we have forged here. I would like to do
my part to make sure that Lamar continues to thrive as a place
for families to come together and share in our experience. |

I
have now managed for two seasons at LLL and have a son who is at
the T-Ball level of play. In managing these two seasons I have
had the privilege of interacting with some of the current board
members. The one thing I noticed was the dedication of these
individuals to the kids and the league. I took it upon myself to
try to pass on that dedication and try to inspire my kids and
the parents to become more involved in the league, and have had
a great time doing so. LLL is a well known league and is held in
high character within the little league organization due to the
commitment of all the volunteers within the league. I am proud
to be a part of this organization and if elected to the board,
it would be my pleasure to help our league keep its unique
stature. I enjoy working with my ball players in teaching them
the basics of the game and keeping it fun so that we can keep
these kids interested in the game of baseball. |

I
want to give back to the league that has made baseball so fun
over the last year that me and my son have participated. I have
coached 2 teams and managed 1 team. I love being a part of the
team and helping these kids grow and develop as kids and
ballplayers. I spend several hours a week looking over baseball
literature and practicing not only with my own son but other
kids in our neigborhood. The league has given me this passion
and I want to give back to them nd lead by example to show
our(my kids and others in the league) kids that giving back is
important. |

Mr
Lloyd has repaired countless electrical/plumbing issues at
George Park this season. His work ethic is a valuable asset to
L.L.L. and I feel he would be an excellent candidate for a board
position. |

My
family and I have been playing at Lamar Little League for the
past three years. I have been involved in youth baseball for six
years and played baseball through high school myself. I have
enjoy watching the growth of my son and the players I have
coached at Lamar Little League. The organization, thru the hard
work of its parent volunteers and board of directors, is a
premier league respected in and around the area. I firmly
believe every player ends their season with a better knowledge
of the game and skill development. That has been my goal for the
last six years of coaching. I wish to give back to the league
what it has given my family- competitiveness, friendships and
above all else, the ability to teach kids the aspects of
baseball. I am extremely proud to have my son playing at Lamar
and to be a part of this great organization. I would like to
serve on the board to help keep the tradition of LLL strong so
children can create memories and friendships that will last a
lifetime. |

My
family has been lifelong baseballers, grew up in Little League
and have many great memories of baseball/Little League as child.
We have been active in LLL since moving to Houston 5 yrs ago. We
have made many friends at Lamar and look forward to continuing
that. Also I want to continue to contribute to the league and
Little League in general as it has helped me so much in life as
a child as well as an adult. I want to help children create
memories as good as mine are of Little League baseball such as
lifelong friendships and life lessons that sport offers.

I
have been actively involved at Lamar Little League, as a manager
and/or coach for the past 6 years – except for this year – for I
chose not to manage or coach, but am heavily involved assisting
the manager whenever needed – keeping the book, scoreboard,
field maintenance, chalking the baselines, etc. I’m not
afraid to work on a volunteer basis and do whatever needs to be
done, whether it is managing a team or taking out the trash in
the concession stand. For the past year, I have managed
the Lamar Bulldogs 10U Select Tournament Team – taking them from
a slow start to winning the 10U Division at the Lamar Spring
Fling. Lamar Little League is a league that I feel truly
believes in the improvement of players at every level – and
doing so as fair as possible. I understand you will never
please everyone, even if the right thing to do may not be the
mast favorable thing to do in the eyes of some parents.
However, doing what is best for the league and the
league’s players should never be jeopardized by the opinions of
others.

I would like to
nominate Sean Grace for a position on the LLL Board of
Directors. I have coached with Sean for the past 2 years and his
professionalism and dedication to our team have truly been
inspriring. Just knowing Sean has made me a better person and I
know our league will benefit having him on our Board. |

Bruce Palmquist |

Bruce is a volunteer that works at the park whenever he is
present at the park. He has helped the league with opening
duties on many occasions without ever being asked. He will be a
tremendous asset to the L.L.L. Board |
