Notice of 2011 Annual Meeting and Election of Directors
The Annual Meeting and Board Member Elections for Lamar Little League will be held on Thursday May 5, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Umpire Room at George Park. As required in our Constitution Article V, Section 1, "The annual meeting of the Members of the Local League shall be held the first Thursday in May at 7:00 p.m. each year for the purpose of electing a Board of Directors and Members, receiving reports and for the transaction of such business as may properly come before the meeting. After the Board of Directors is elected, the Board shall meet to elect the officers.
Article V, Section 6 of our Constitution addresses Absentee Ballots: "For the expressed purpose of accommodating a regular member in good standing who cannot be in attendance at the annual meeting, an absentee ballot may be requested and obtained from the Secretary of the League. The absentee ballot shall be properly completed, signed and returned in a sealed envelope to the Secretary prior to the date of the annual meeting and the election of members to the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall present all absentee ballots to the Election Chairman on the date of the annual meeting prior the conduct of the election process."
In order to accommodate those with games on May 5th, voting will be open from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m on Thursday, May 5th, 2011. Absentee ballots may be turned in at the Umpire Room on Wednesday, May 4th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The candidates with the most votes will be announced on this web site following the counting of the ballots. Ballots will be counted at by the league Secretary and President.

All candidates must also complete a Volunteer Application (if not already on file for the current year) so that a background check can be completed.

| Greg Albright | None | I would like to nominate Greg Albright for a position on the LLL Board of Directors. Greg has been a Manager and a great volunteer for the last 5 years and is always willing to help in any capacity. He has been a valuable resource to the league and has demonstrated his generosity with numerous donations of sand and topsoil when we rebuilt Field #4. I'm confident that the tradition of baseball will continue with him involved. So please support my nomination for Greg by taking the time to vote. |
| Rick Dunlap | Information Officer | I want to continue giving back to Little League and LLL in particular. The Board is a challenging but rewarding experience that I look forward to again if the members see fit. | James Burger | None | My name is James Burger and I have been a resident of Fort Bend County for the past 23 years. My wife Beth and I have been married for 14 years and have three children. We have lived in the Greatwood community for eight years. Our two sons attend Campbell Elementary School and our daughter attends Reading Jr High School. In my professional career I have been employed with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office for the past 23 years. For the past 4 years i have served as captain of the criminal investigations division. I have served as a coach and board member for youth sports organizations in the past and realize it takes many volunteers for an organization to be successful. I have two sons playing at Lamar Little League and I have assisted as a coach at the machine pitch levels and volunteered as an umpire at the minor and varsity levels. Serving on the board is the next step in volunteering in an organization that I plan on being a part of for many more years. |
| Jim Goble | None | I have been involved with LLL for the past three years as a Manager or coach in the A - AAA divisions. I have two boys participating in the league and we have truly enjoyed the quality of the baseball and facilities provide by past generations of the Board. With multiple years of LLL baseball ahead, I want to be a part of assisting in keeping the league great. I understand the commitment that is associated with this position and am looking forward to the opportunity if elected. |
| Donald Hughes | None | I have had the honor to serve as a manager on 3 separate occasions out at Lamar Little League on the AA and AAA levels. I have also had the honor to serve as a coach and manager at Katy Pony prior to coming out to Lamar Little League. It is definetly an honor to coach and serve as a mentor for these young men! I am currently managing a team at the AAA level and look forward to the opportunity if elected to serve this league for years to come! |
| John Schroeder | VP Uniforms & Equip. | I would like to nominate John to the Board again. He has been a devoted and positive contributor to both the Board and the League in general. Every time John is in the park there are numerous kids who always find their way to John for some fun and laughter, which is ultimately what this is really all about. In closing, as a member of the Board I trust John to continue making the "right" decisions regarding the kids, the families and the league. |

| Leslie Johnson | None | Our family's involvement with Lamar Little League started in 2005 when my oldest son began playing tee ball. He is now in Majors, age 11. My youngest son also plays ball and is currently on a AAA team, age 7. Being involved with Little League has been very rewarding, not only for the children, but for our family. We have met so many wonderful people...life long friends. I would like the opportunity to give back to the organization that has allowed our family to grow and develop into what it is today. |
| Jeff Galvan | None | I have been involved with lamar Little League as a Coach, Manager and Volunteer since 2007, and currently have a son playing in the minors division of which I Manage. Last year I had the pleasure of coaching a AAA blue/red/white grey team and currently coach a select team of very talented young men at Lamar. Our experience at Lamar has been a great one and I would like to be invoved with the board to help ensure that the future of Lamar is as bright as the past 4 years we have experienced under the current and previous direction I am also involved in youth football as Head Coach of the Greatwood Packers Freshamn team. I have been married to my wife Shelli for nearly 16 years, we have 3 children, 2 girls that are 14 and 11 years of age and 1 son who is 8. |

| Michael Pike | None | I would like to nominate Michael Pike to serve on the Lamar Little League Board of Directors. Michael's professional and volunteer experience would benefit the League tremendously. Michael has been involved with Lamar Little League as a Coach or Manager since 2004. He was the Founder and Commissioner for the Faith Upward Football Organization for 3 years, and coached Upward basketball for 4 years. Last fall, Michael was a Coach for the Pecan Grove Gator Football Organization and he is now a Board Member. |
| Kenneth Halligan | None | I have been a part of Lamar Little League for 4 seasons now and have built lifelong friendships in Lamar during that time. I enjoy working with kids and my fellow coaches and would like to be more involved than just as a coach. I am a teacher and coach and currently I am the athletic director at Baines MS in FBISD. I look forward to many more great years to come at George Park. |
