Opening Day Spring 2012 - Saturday, March 3rd
The tradition continues Saturday March 3rd, 2012. Lamar Little League's Opening Day Festivities include a full slate of games, team and individual pictures, raffle ticket drawing winners, and silent auction.
Special Note Regarding Parking on Opening Day 
Please note that Opening Day presents a unique challenge for parking. To assist in parking during our most congested day at the park we will have various attendants directing and guiding you. Most likely you will be forced to park in our overflow parking areas which will be the last paved lot near Field 10 as well as the extended grass area beyond Field 10 in addition to our normal parking lots. See our Park Map here.To assist our members who are forced to park in extended areas, we plan to have Golf Carts to provide transportation to the Field Areas. (As in Previous years)
Please be advised that the Richmond Police Department will be there to assist as well but also to identify illegal parking issues which add to the congestion. If you park illegally in locations marked as NO PARKING, you will most likely be ticketed.
Parade / Opening Ceremonies
The Opening Day Parade / Opening Ceremonies Agenda is as follows:
- 7:45am - Parade participants assemble at the intersection of Jackson & 5th Street/Hwy 90
- 8:15am - Parade begins towards George Park
- 8:45am - Parade arrives and assembles at Field 4
- 9:00am - Opening commetns, All Star recognitions
- 9:25am - National Anthem
- 9:30am - Prepare for games
- 10:00am - Games begin
- 10:00am - Silent Auction underway
- 4:00pm - Raffle Drawing!!! & Silent Auction Concludes!!!
Raffle
The raffle is a major fundraiser for the league each year. It helps us pay for various operating expenses and is critical to the success and viability of the league. Your teams have already been distributed the raffle tickets, please help support Lamar Little League and purchase a raffle ticket!!! Your child will receive a package of 10 from your coach shortly after teams are formed. We request these be sold prior to the Opening Day.
This year's raffle prizes are as follows:

- Samsung 51" Plasma TV 720p 60Hz
- Char-Broil Red Infrared Cooking System (Stainless)
All prizes to be drawn & announced promptly at:
- 4:00pm (You do not need to be present to win!!!!!)

Silent Auction
Each year at Opening Day we present a large selection of "Gift Baskets" containing an enormous range of Goods and Services donated by our supporters. These donations are solicited by our League Teams and organized by each Team's Team Mom. Please stop by and see if there is something you want / need and support Lamar Little League!!! The Silent Auction items/baskets can be reviewed in the Umpire/Board Room located directly behind the Concession Stand.

Team Moms
Please see the attached instructions:
- Customize the Tally Sheet Example to reflect your team's information. List each item, its value, and the total basket value. Email the completed tally sheet to Silent Auction Coordinator-Suzi Stanton or print / bring it when you turn in your team's donation. The tally sheet can be downloaded here: Tally Sheet.
- Customize the Bid Sheet Example to reflect your team's information. Refer to the Silent Auction Information document to determine your donation's minimum bid. Email the Bid Sheet to Silent Auction Coordinator-Suzi Stanton or print / bring it when you turn in your team's donation. The sample bid sheet can be downloaded here: Silent Auction Bid Sheet.
- Once LLL announces the Opening Day game schedule, please email your parents (or talk to them at practice) and ask them volunteer one hour of their time on Opening Day. Volunteers are needed to help the Silent Auction Coordinator keep an eye on the baskets, their contents, & supervise the bidding process.
- BASKET / DONATIONS COLLECTION:
Baskets & donated items will be collected 3pm – 8pm Monday, February 27th & Tuesday, 28th.
Baskets 1-10 will go on one table, 2-20 on another table, and so on.
If Tally / Bid sheets were not already emailed to Silent Auction Coordinator-Suzi Stanton , bring both when turning in your item(s).
Team / Individual Pictures
Team pictures will be taken on Opening Day. The location of the pictures and where your children will be coordinated is on your left as you enter the park. Your Team's photos will be prior to their scheduled game and will be coordianted by your Team Mom. Please contact your Team Mom or Team Manager for additional informaiton regarding pictures. The 2012 Picture Coordinator (TBA Soon) may also be of assistance for special issues or questions. For team picture schedule, please see below.
